Peaceful Glamping Pods in Northumberland With Stunning Countryside Views

Two cosy family spaces with views towards Hadrian’s Wall and beyond

From £75 – £100 per night

‘Step back from the world’, that’s the motto of Sycamore Glamping Pods in Northumberland. The reason is simple: instead of the hustle and bustle of the world you know outside your front door, stay in either Willow Pod or Cedar Pod and, outside your window, the beauty and peace of the North Pennines wraps you in its arms.

The Setting

Sycamore Glamping Pods in Northumberland are two new additions to the quiet family farm owned by Debbie and Mark Longlands and found in the village of Birtley, in the North East.

Willow sleeps 4, Cedar sleeps 6 – and both are as fresh and new as the landscaped garden that surrounds them. Behind the pods there’s a smart and tidy picnic area. Step inside either of the two and you’ll find both sparkling clean and comfortably modern.

Not that the Willow or Cedar’s pristine appearance should put off families who like muddy walks and tramping across the countryside. On the contrary; it’s you that they were built for.

You only have to look at the enviable views that roll out from the door of your pod. In front of you, farmland with its cotton-bud sheep and, if you look closely, you can see Hadrian’s Wall. Yes, walking and cycling and jumping feet-first into God’s Country is exactly what the hosts want you to do when you stay at Sycamore Glamping Pods.

The Space

After you’ve explored, these lovely Northumberland glamping pods are ready to welcome you home and make your evening special. Inside both Willow and Cedar, you can expect underfloor heating, individual ensuite shower rooms, kitchens with dishwashers, fridge/freezers, toasters, kettles, and a hob, as well as a living space where you can put your feet up infront of the freeview TV.

When it’s time to turn-in for the evening, sink into your own double bed and send the kids into the cabin-style bunks (a fun feature of Cedar) . All the bedding and towels are provided, so there’s no need to bring your own.

If the lure of a late night is just too great, then wrap up and sit under the stars; in this part of the world the star-gazing is incredible and, on clear nights, you can catch a glimpse of a planet or two, visible from the decking of your pod.

The BBQ Hut

Sycamore Northumberland glamping pods are self-catering, but you won’t go hungry if you don’t fancy going out. Your hosts have just introduced a wonderful new BBQ hut alongside the huts. And with its Scandi-style good looks, the BBQ hut is the perfect place to ‘eat out’ without stepping away from the site.

For £40 you can hire the hut for the evening and cook up a BBQ feast. Its a warm, comfy, social space, with shelving for your drinks, fairylights to make it extra magical and tables for your food – all centred around the BBQ grill.

All the charcoal, matches, and BBQ utensils are provided. Debbie and Mark will also arrange BBQ food to cook supplied by the local butcher for when you arrive. Canny, as they say in these parts.
