Dog-Friendly | Bute Park Cafe | Eat in and Take away
Nestled in the centre of Cardiff is the capital’s best kept coffee secret: The Secret Garden Café. Next to the River Taff in Bute Park, this pretty city-centre café offers a blissful retreat from the bustling city nearby – and a perfect place for brunch with friends on a weekend.
You’ll find it hidden in the historic walled courtyard of Bute Park – behind The People’s Door – surrounded by beautiful botanical displays, ancient trees, macrame hangers and plants of all shapes and sizes.
Using only sustainable and locally-sourced organic produce (good food, not fast food is the motto here), the Secret Garden Cafe Cardiff has an honest, tasty menu. Expect a different speciality coffee daily, homemade vegan and gluten-free cakes and treats, thick tasty soups, salad and picnic bowls and boxes – including build your own – plus, a range of delicious breakfast options
There’s plenty of outside seating and a small covered area – but it does get popular on weekends, so be prepared to queue if you’re not there early!
