England Suffolk

WEEKEND BREAKS IN

Suffolk

Enormous powder-blue skies, villages lost in time, coastline that thumps your heart, and countryside that inspired one of England's finest artists, Constable. Welcome to Suffolk, friends - where the weekends always come light-filled.

WHY WEEKEND IN SUFFOLK?

It's as cool as a cucumber

No wonder Suffolk is as blissfully laid back as it it: this beautiful county, in the east of England, is bordered by 50 miles of glorious coastline and awash with vast open skies that are often blue – and always spectacular.

The county made its money on the back of the medieval wool trade, which means there are a string of pretty towns to visit – such as Lavenham (which featured in Harry Potter) and Long Melford (which didn’t, but isn’t sour about it). Plus, magnificent churches and mighty Tudor homes around every handsome corner.

Hop skip to the Suffolk seaside where genteel spots like Southwold and Aldeburgh are ready to work their charms. Or root inland, sinking deep into Constable Country with some of England’s most instantly recognisable landscapes waiting and cherished villages to fall for.

Oh, and if you like your weekend breaks dry, you’re in the right place: Suffolk is one of the driest counties in England.
