With the historic heartbeat of Haworth just outside its door, Weaver’s Guesthouse offers Brontë fans a beautifully appointed Bed and Breakfast to rest in when day slips into night.
The Brontë sisters themselves would’ve walked past Weaver’s Guesthouse – a B&B in Howarth – at some point during their time, treading carefully along the smokey cobbles on their way back to the Parsonage where they lived.
Since those days, very little has changed in the village of Haworth; the town is as achingly quaint as always and the historic ghosts of the past can still be felt. For any lover of the Brontë sisters, Weaver’s Guesthouse is, therefore, an absolute must.
Thoughtfully renovated over the past 2 years by its now owners, Josie and Brendan, this unique Howarth bed and breakfast combines the best of both worlds: the historic charm of the original Victorian building with all the class of a contemporary city hotel.
Charmingly historic, yet beautifully boutique
Think walk-in showers, plush velvet furnishings, spa-soft towels and bathrobes, sleigh beds (in the Shirley Suite) and complimentary local tea and coffee to make you feel at home. In fact, the standard of interior is so high that it comes as no surprise that Josie and Brendan met whilst working at a 5-star London hotel (she was marketing manager and he was a chef).
Despite swapping London for his homeland of Yorkshire, Brendan hasn’t hung up his toque blanche just yet: the hearty Yorkshire breakfasts that come with a stay at Weaver’s Guesthouse are Brendan’s creation. It’s cooked to perfection to get your through a wild walk on the Pennine Way – which passes Howarth on its way up to the Scottish Borders.
If a walk on the moors doesn’t call you, then the local Brontë gems will, including the Bronte Parsonage (lifelong home of the Brontë family which is visible from this Howarth bed and breakfast) and the Fleece Inn, where Branwell Brontë notoriously used to sink a few pints.
