Alexander House is a 3-storey hen party house in Scotland that’s grand enough for a truly special celebration to mark the next chapter of your life. Privately-owned and dearly loved for over 14 years by its owners, this is a house that feels like a home – and not just somewhere to drop your bags before making merry.
The Stay
Inside, this traditional Scottish mansion is immaculate. Which is why it’s also a popular wedding venue for intimate weddings and VIP elopements. There are 9 large bedrooms (one of which is the lovely master suite); the bedrooms are elegantly and tastefully decorated in country-house creams, and styled with a mix of farmhouse and French-style antique furniture.
Similarly, all 8 bathrooms are pristine. With powerful modern showers and a calming white and oak vibe. The master suite even boasts a contemporary oval bathtub that is not easy to leave thanks to the pretty vista over the highlands and lowlands.
Like the rest of this wonderful Scottish hen party house, the social spaces where you gather are huge. The sprawling kitchen-dining room on the ground floor (which is home to a large pine-scrubbed table, soft leather sofas and a smart TV) is always light-filled because of four tall double doors.
Swing open the doors and there’s a timber-hewn wooden table just outside; sit here for your morning coffee as the views wash over you from all directions. The kitchen itself is well-equipped for 14 – 28 guests, so you can all cook together effortlessly or hire a private chef to cook for you instead. Bit of a no brainer, really.
For an a la carte feast in 5-star comfort, take your crew into the stunning dining hall, gather around the circular table (which comfortably seats 15) and toast your hen weekend like lairds.
Next door there’s a drawing room waiting where you can light the open fire and bed into the armchairs for the evening to swap stories, play cards or simply watch the changing sky through the bay window. There’s even a games room where you can enjoy a hen movie night thanks to the 50 inch TV, complete with Sky, or try your hand at pool.

As you’d expect, the outside space of Alexander House is as impressive as the inside. This hen party house sits in a pristine spot, amongst a sea of Perthshire grass, heather and gorse. Behind you, the Ochil Hills rise up to meet the clouds; in front of you the groomed lawn rolls towards neighbouring fields.
From this elevated rural position you can see to the Gleneagles Estate (5 mins’ drive away), out towards the small town of Auchterarder (home to the longest main street in Scotland at a dizzying mile and a half long) and across to the Sidlaw Hills in the West, Perth and the Highlands to the East. You can also see the whole of Strathallan to Crieff and the Sma’ Glen, the Gateway to the Highlands.
Best of all, so that you can soak it all in, there’s a sheltered 6-seater hot tub and a petite covered heated swimming pool waiting in a pretty courtyard.

From pampering sessions, afternoon tea and chocolate-making to dance classes, Butlers in the Buff and archery.
Head off-site and there’s more waiting still, including bushcraft or mini Highland games with local activity centre Do It Outdoors, as well as whitewater rafting, horse-riding or golf at the world-famous Gleneagles Golf Course.
