Because this luxurious converted outbuilding, set on family farm in Devon, is a hideaway that’s as beautiful as it is historical. To spend any time here, staying in either Redbrick Barn or its compact cousin, The Studio, is a treat that you won’t forget in a hurry.
Both of these holiday barn spaces are a seamless pulling together of original agrarian features with modern updates and comforts. On the outside, the striking mismatched red bricks give away the barn’s age. On the inside, it’s only the natural materials, pastoral-inspired furnishings and biophilic hues that indicate you’re weekending in a piece of Devon’s agricultural history.

Stood on the balcony of Redbrick Barn there’s no doubt where you are. In front of you, the juicy greens of the Devon countryside rise up like a wave. From this elevated spot, mornings are lazy and unhurried as you sit at the outdoor dining table, dappled with sunshine and plunging the cafetiere.
Back inside, the open-plan kitchen, living and dining spaces brings with it natural light all year-round. The mellow rays bounce restoratively off the pale grey walls, cross-beamed high ceiling and chunky rustic furnishings. Spacious as Redbrick Barn is, it is also effortlessly cosy. The log burner crackles pleasantly next to the sprawling sofa with its over-sized pillows and soft throws – just the spot for reading or movie-watching.
Your super-king bedroom is on the mezzanine floor, tucked away snug as a bug amongst the wooden rafters where the real world can’t reach you. Back downstairs you’ll find the bathroom, with its egg-cup shaped free-standing bath, soak shower and his and hers sinks.

On the ground floor of this Devon holiday barn there’s an equally characterful space for two (or for solo travellers seeking their own time away).
The Studio has a tastefully-decorated open-plan layout, giving you a country-living bijou home for your Devon weekend. It too boasts a king-sized bed (housed within an inglenook and framed by thick exposed beams) and a well-equipped galley-style kitchen, as well as year-long light which floods in through the custom-made double doors and heritage triple-glazed windows.There’s an elegant and inviting living space, with a squishy sofa and armchairs, a small rustic dining table, and a modern bathroom with a steaming hot shower.
Outside, you’ve a courtyard garden waiting where you can toast marshmallows over the firepit or simply watch the stars swirl overhead until it’s time for bed.
