Why we love The Welsh Farm’s Yurts for a weekend

“There is goodness in this secret Welsh glamping spot. Real goodness, forged from the owners’ desire to give more than they receive. It’s why, when you come for a romantic stay, not only will you feel supremely comfortable and content in these Welsh yurts, you’ll also feel a joyful tingle that your time here is changing lives elsewhere.”

It’s rare to find places that fill you up with feel good from the outside in. But on a family farm in rural Carmarthenshire, there are two yurts that do exactly that. The Country Yurt and The Yurt Hideaway are adept at soothing the knocks you may have taken from living in the modern world and helping you recouple again.

Best of all, these two Welsh yurts spill goodness out into the wider world. Husband and wife owners, Joe and Beth, spent the better part of 20 years doing community work in Wales and Malawi, Africa – and wanted this life-changing work to continue to grow through their glamping business.

It means that, when you stay at one of these yurts in Wales, your booking helps to fund the work of Malawi-based charities supporting child education, community work and reforestation. So, that inner warmth you feel? It’s not just because of the natural riches of The Welsh Farm. It’s because you are doing good thousands of miles away just by taking the weekend off.

The Yurts

Each yurt boasts the right ingredients for a deep reset, thanks to the abundant natural goodness around it: the freshest air, acres of glorious countryside and endless adventures on your doorstep, including mountains to climb, dolphins to spot and 1,000 miles of Welsh footpaths to explore. Indeed, if you want to discover South West Wales as a couple, these yurts are a fabulous base to do so from.

Both yurts also come with simple luxe touches to ensure real rest and nourishment for you both: a handcrafted oak king-sized bed made up with quality linen and Welsh wool blankets, a mini kitchen with crockery and pans, a rustic washroom, board games, fresh eggs in the morning, a fire pit and a hot tub. Just bring your warms, your dogs, your wet weather wellies and delicious edibles.

The Country Yurt | Sleeps 4 | 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom

Tucked away in a secluded quarter-acre of Welsh greenery, The Country Yurt is a pretty, romantic getaway for 4 of you. As a couple, you can stay alone or bring the kids and be equally chilled out. The interior is lovingly set-up for happy glamping with a stove, butler sink, king-sized oak bed, reclaimed pine table, and a wood-burner. A nearby eco-washroom, a few steps from the yurt, comes complete with hot shower, wash basin, and a compost toilet. There’s also a fire pit, a pizza oven, a private hot tub surrounded by trees and a ‘help yourself’ vegetable garden.

The Yurt Hideaway | Sleeps 2 | 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom

Hidden away in private woodland, The Yurt Hideaway is a dreamy spot for two amongst the beech, ash and oak trees. The yurt itself is set in a quiet glade, with the odd neighbouring cow looking over the fence once in a while. Inside, there’s a fully-equipped kitchen, wood burning stove, a cosy dining area for two and a lovely handcrafted oak king size bed. Outside, you’ve a hot tub to slink into, a fire pit to toast marshmallows over and a solar-powered shepherd’s hut bathroom, complete with a Riven slate floor, oak barrel toilet and large walk-in shower.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“The excitement builds the minute you get to start following the signs and Joe’s excellent directions. Then pulling up the car and seeing the winding path. We couldn’t get out the car quick enough! It’s absolute perfection nothing more we could’ve wanted to celebrate our anniversary. The love and attention to detail you have invested in this amazing place is second to none. Thank you. We cooked steak, drank bubbles in the hot tub built fires and watch the flames for hours. A true “getaway”. We will definitely be recommending you to our friends and family.” Kelly and Rob
