You may expect the 3 Mongolian yurts at Peake’s Retreats in Staffordshire to be traditional in nature. On the outside, they look as if they’ve been plucked directly from the East Asian landscape. But inside they are filled with an abundance of English countryside charm. They also come with on-site hot tubs and a Finnish BBQ to give you a multi-cultural short stay mix that’s extra special.
12 miles south of the Peak District and three miles from Burton-On-Trent, you’ll find the family-run Staffordshire glamping site, Peake’s Retreats. The peaceful, rural site is home to three luxury self-catering Mongolian Peak District yurts – sleeping up to 6 people – and inside each an English country garden dream awaits you: fresh white interiors; vintage chic fittings; floral bedding; flower garlands; and farmhouse style furnishings.
Run by the lovely owner, Sarah, on part of the family’s farm, the yurts are the ideal place to retreat to with family, friends or as a couple for a little TLC, courtesy of Mother Nature. Whether you decide to stay in Potter’s Lodge, Beaumont’s Hideaway or Milne’s Corner (with its own private wood-fried hot tub), you’ll enjoy boutique-style luxury in each.
From the plump super king-sized beds, sofa beds and day beds, to the luxury shower rooms (complete with with Neal’s Yard toiletries) and cosy log burners and candles (there is no electricity in the yurts but charging facilities are available in the cooking cabin).
