So long Halloween, get ready for non-stop Christmas music and Jack bleeding Frost nipping your pink bits. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The weekend is here, and we are going to make the very best of it. We have rounded up some amazing things to do this weekend in the UK. You just may need to wear at least ten layers before you head out.

For more ideas on what to do this weekend, there’s also my Weekend Directory to visit. If you do go to any of the events below, swing by the comments below and let me know!

Event | National Pet Show – The NEC, Birmingham

2nd – 3rdNov | Tickets: Adult £21.29 Child £16.59

It’s like Noah’s ark in here! The National Pet Show is at the Birmingham NEC arena this weekend, so whether your family is looking to get a new pet or you’re simply a life-long animal lover, this is the perfect place to make a bee-line for.

Get up close and personal with hundreds of animals, meet the experts and watch animal action displays. Of course, you can shop the latest products for your pets, too. YOu’d be barking to miss it.

Event | Day of the dead Spooktacular – The Old Tramway Inn, Stratford-Upon-Avon

2nd Nov | FREE entry

Halloween ain’t over yet, my friends. Because Halloween was midweek this year, the lovely people at The Old Tramway Inn thought they would celebrate the day of the dead this weekend instead – so more of you can enjoy it. And no expense has been spared!

Decorated to the max, themed cocktails, a spooky table of mystery and a slap-up themed buffet to tuck into. Everyone will be dressed to impress, and you are invited to come dressed up as well. They even have a mystery band headlining for you to jam to. What a wonderfully spooky knees-up.

Event | Cheltenham Racecourse Firework Display

2nd Nov | £8 an adult, £5 a child (under 16)

The spectacular fireworks display at the racecourse is a 30 year-old tradition and is widely recognised as one of the largest and safest firework displays in the South West region, attracting some 10,000 people every year.

This year it’ll be bigger and better than ever before. Come along for a spectacular night of entertainment with our special guests, Alex and Private from Madagascar, along with the family funfair and refreshments. All of the money raised from the evening will be donated to local charities. Gates open at 5pm.

Event | Abbey Park Fireworks Display, Leicester

2nd Nov | Tickets: £6 in advance £8 on the gate

Watch the skies light up over Leicester city at this annual family event, which includes a great programme of live entertainment, and a funfair.

There will also be plenty of hot food and drink stalls to warm you up. The lighting of the bonfire and main display is always a spectacular sight. They also include a quieter firework show perfect for younger audiences. Genius.

Exhibition | GlasGLOW, Glasgow Botanical Gardens

Sat 2nd – Sun 3rd | Tickets £9 – £18

A year in the making, GlasGLOW is back, with nine immersive worlds of light, sound and magic all housed in the beautiful surroundings of Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens.

Dive into the imaginations of the world’s leading light and sound experts as you explore the gardens as each world transports you to another dimension.

Expect a magical 60-minute journey that’s bigger, better and more interactive than ever before; a street food village; and a cosy bar to relax in with an unparalleled view.

Theatre | Cirque Du Vulgar, Worcester

Sat 2nd – Sun 3rd | Tickets: £15 – £25

We’ve left this cheeky number last as it is definitely not one to bring the kiddies along to. But it would definitely make for a great date night or for a fab girls’ night out.

Cirque Du Vulgar is a night of risqué live entertainment, featuring, electrifying daredevil stunts, filthy comedy, nipple-tassels and naughty aerial acts. Maybe even a saucy strip-tease routine.

Under the Big Top, this adult show blends modern circus acts with burlesque and insane stunts to create a night of live entertainment you won’t forget. Strictly over 18s!
