As you look from left to right, following the coast as it rises and falls from Lyme Harbour to Portland Bill, your eyes rest on land where the dinosaurs once trod. It’s no exaggeration to say that Ammonite is a rare find. From the apartment, not only can you easily see Lyme Bay, you and your four-legged friend can reach all of Lyme’s attractions easily, too. The town centre, with its independent shops, cafes and restaurants, is only a short 5 minute walk away. Walk 10 minutes more and you’re on the beautiful pastel-coloured seafront promenade, home to Lyme’s world-famous Cobb, its popular dog-friendly beaches and plenty of things to do.
Inside
Once inside, the view may change but the appeal doesn’t. This slick dog-friendly apartment is fresh and modern. Light floods into stylishly decorated rooms, through double-glazed sash windows, bouncing off the charcoals, mochas and golds of the soft furnishings and fabrics.
The two bedrooms are immaculately done. In the master bedroom, there’s a kingsized bed dressed in coastal blues and whites. Local artwork hangs on the walls reminding you how close the sea is, and there’s a wardrobe and drawers reminding you that you can stay longer than a weekend if you want to.
The second room is neat and bijou, with sunshine-yellow twin beds for smaller guests, which can be zip-linked into a double if you’re staying with adult friends.
The open-plan living, dining and kitchen space is just the right size for smaller families to get snug in front of the smart TV when the weather turns. When the sun’s out, throw open the double doors and let in the sea air and sounds of the seabirds.
As you’d expect in self-catering accommodation, the kitchen is fully-equipped with an induction hob and oven, integrated fridge and freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, for effortless mealtimes. And there’s a handsome shower room with a heated towel rail and walk-in shower for rinsing sandy toes.
