Why we love Enchanted Glamping in Perthshire for a Weekend
“No matter which direction you look – north, east, south or west – the views roll towards you from every direction. And with them, comes crisp Scottish air filled with the scent of Scots Pine and the hushed sense that here’s an undiscovered gem you won’t want to share in a hurry.”
It’s hard to know what is more delightful: the wildly romantic glamping yurts and lorries, where you can hide away as a couple for as long as your heart desires, or the majesty of the scenery that they sit within. In truth, it doesn’t matter. You are sure to be captivated by both the landscape and the accommodation loveliness when you stay at Enchanted Glamping in Perthshire. And rightly so.
The four glamping stays – Juniper, Thistle, Heather and Bramble – sit on a vast swathe of private land at the foot of the Ochil Hills. Each one looks out towards world-famous Gleneagles and across to Auchterarder – famous as the home of the longest main street in Scotland. Behind them, Alexander House (a stunning mansion you can hire for weddings, celebrations or girls’ weekends) keeps a protective watch.
All four units differ in personality, but not in self-confidence; each has the same high-end interiors and furnishings to ensure guests keep smiling however long they stay. Expect thoughtful touches (thanks to the exceptional Alexander House team), hotel-style comforts (feather duvets and sprung mattresses) and a natural feast for all your senses, courtesy of the surrounding Perthshire countryside.
The Stays
Bramble Yurt | Sleeps 2 | Hot Tub
Sheltered by a huge Scots Pine, Bramble is a conjoined double yurt with a blush and copper interior. She comes with a 12-foot bathroom, running hot and cold water, a roll-top bath and proper toilet. You sleep in a king-sized bed and, outside on the raised deck, there’s a wood-fired 2-person hot tub.
Heather Yurt | Sleeps 2 | Hot Tub
Hidden away in a heather-clad spot of the Alexander House estate, this glamping yurt is a restful stone-grey. Like Bramble, she boasts a huge ensuite bathroom in the adjoined yurt. Your bed is king-sized, there’s a sofa for afternoon slothing and a wood burner with integrated mini oven for easy, hot meals.
Juniper Lorry | Sleeps 2 – 4 | Hot Tub | Dog Friendly
Ex-horse trailer Juniper is now a characterful rustic escape nested in a circle of towering Scots pines. With her own claw-foot bath, mini kitchen, wood-fired hot tub, and cabin bed for kids, she’s a virtual tiny home on wheels. Sit in the swing seat outside and you can see to Ben Vorlich in the West and the Sidlaw Hills.
Thistle Lorry | Sleeps 2 – 4 | Hot Tub | Dog Friendly
Thistle is a converted horse lorry with spaceship vibes. Her gleaming white and grey interior makes a bright, modern den for four of you. There’s a fold down king size Murphy bed with sprung mattress for adults; kids can hide away in the cabin bed above the driving cab. Outside, your wood-fired hot tub has fabulous views over Gleneagles.
“First time glamping and we loved it.The surroundings are beautiful. Very calm & relaxing -just what we needed to recharge. The yurt is very comfortable, especially the bed. It’s very well kitted out and has everything you need and more. We had a lovely weekend and will definitely be back. The added bonus was the Highland Cows who eventually came up to the fence to say hello”
