Bubbles and cake in a – er – glass bubble? Heck, don’t mind if we do. This is the London Secret Garden; a luxury dining experience in private dinner domes tucked away in the back streets of leafy Kensington.
There are 5 exclusive bubbles available – each named after an iconic rock star and each seating 10 people. Step into your private pod, sit down and the waiter will be with you in a click. Perhaps you’d like cocktails before your afternoon tea or maybe you’ll dive straight into cake? The choice is yours.
Understandably, the Champagne Afternoon Tea is a popular choice in the London Secret Garden – and from £45pp, it’s not as high-end as it could be.
First, you’ll be served an array of savouries and sandwiches, including: Umami duck spring rolls, caramelised red onion and Somerset brie tart, cucumber and black pepper bread, oak smoked Scottish salmon with dill cream cheese and Langs Farm free range egg with wild cress on granary bread.
Next up, come the scones warm from the oven and accompanied by jam and clotted cream. There’s also pistachio and white chocolate cake, strawberry mille feuille, lemon and raspberry tart, blackcurrant and blueberry pave, and chocolate and walnut brownie – in case your sweet tooth is feeling hard done by.
Tea is on tap, as you’d expect. Will it be Persian pomegranate, Egyptian mint, citrus chamomile or a good old English Breakfast? Your tea, your business.
The London Secret Garden domes are available from Monday to Sunday 9am-10pm. Afternoon tea costs from £35 pp or £45pp with champagne on arrival. Booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
