Event | Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony, Cheltenham
Sat 25th Jan | Tickets: Free
Head to the wonderful August Moon Tea House in Montpellier courtyard, Cheltenham, on Saturday and you’re in for even more oriental wonder! As well as quietly sipping authentic Chinese tea served in the traditional Gong Fu style, you’ll learn some Mandarin (China’s official language), and, if you are interested, you can learn to write it too.
You’ll also have the chance to discover the true meaning of your zodiac years with Xing Yi (Estelle), who runs August Moon. Rats, dragons, tigers, snakes and goats – all are welcome!
Event | The Murder Trial Live, Village Hotel, Edinburgh
Thurs 23rd – Sat 25th Jan | Tickets: £61 – £65
This sell-out live experience was made famous by Dragon’s Den and is now touring the UK. From the creators of the AWARD-WINNING ‘Anatomy lab live’, it’s the first time ever that a murder trial will be on tour – giving you the chance to experience the theatre and the debate up close and personal.
As the court room drama unfolds you’ll enjoy a two course meal with your fellow Jurors with a team of criminal barristers laying out the evidence to you systematically. After dinner, you retire as the jury to debate and decide the evidence put before you. Innocent or guilty you decide!
“An absolutely incredible evening that made me challenge how and what I think. I can’t get over how my mind was changing all of the time… well recommended.”
Event | Circus of Horrors, Princess Theatre, Torquay
Sat 25th Jan | Tickets: £13 – £28.50
A brand new Circus of Horrors show awaits you so brace yourselves! This immersive experience features acts that’ll give you goosebumps – with antics set to a belting rock ‘n’ roll soundscape.
You’ll be on the edge of your seat, trust us. Described as unbelievable, bizarre and beautiful, this is a circus like no other!
There is nudity and bad language, so it’s strictly adults only (no under 16s). And if you’re of a nervous disposition, staying at home with a box set is probably a better idea!
Experience | Float in the Forest, Gloucestershire
Sat 25th Jan | Tickets: Free
Floatation is a relaxation therapy where you float effortlessly on the surface of warm water saturated with Epsom salt. Your muscles relax and you mind can drift off.
If you’re curious about trying flotation, then now’s your chance thanks to the Float Centre near Lydney in the Forest of Dean. It’s holding an Open Day on Sat 25th Jan from 12pm to 6pm; no need to book, just drop in.
This a rare chance to see the float pods when they’re not in use – the rooms, we’re told, have to be seen to be believed!
