🛌 6 Spaces Sleeping 2 – 3 Adults | 🐶 Dog Friendly | 🥂 Concierge Service and Unique Extras | Tried & Tested
Why we love them for a weekend
A stay at Outbuildings in Dorset is more than just somewhere to come to rest your head. Yes, the rooms are beautiful (really beautiful, in fact) but it is the extra experiences and concierge service that you enjoy whilst you’re here (delivered by the lovely family) that makes this place truly extraordinary.
Outbuildings is a collection of 6 smart, dog-friendly self-catering spaces housed in the converted buildings of a traditional family farm. Each space has been uniquely styled by the family who own Outbuildings with all the charms of a bygone era and all the luxuries of modern-day comforts. Choose from:
The Pressing Room (from £200pn) – the largest room to stay in, sleeping 2/3 adults and 2 children with a superior king bed, a double sofa bed and a stunning William Holland brass bathtub at the end of the bed.
The Farrows (from £130pn)- this room looks out over the inner farm and a courtyard garden with fishpond. It sleeps 2 adults in a double bed and is a striking self-catering space where the lounge, dining and bedroom flow as one.
The Sty (from £150pn) sits at the heart of the farm, next door to The Farrows, and sleeps 2 adults in one king bed. It’s a decadent space and also has a big smart TV and a wonderful private terrace.
The Coop (from £200pn) is a magnificent transformation of a former chicken shed and sits away from the main farm in a nook of its own. It sleeps 2 in a superior king bed that’s set on a mezzanine. The views from the open-air copper William Holland bathtub are divine.
The Pen (from £180pn) is the only space that’s not dog-friendly – but you can see why. It’s a magnificent hand-built shepherd’s hut for 2 with a king-sized bed, copper William Holland bathtub and a floor-to-ceiling glass front which gifts the occupants magnificent views.
The Location
The Outbuildings is set on 10 acres of beautiful West Dorset farmland, just a short drive from the popular market town of Bridport and the coastal harbour of West Bay. The dairy farm itself is a small working affair; not a huge commercial enterprise it once was, so you won’t be woken by herds of cows or the roar of tractors in the morning.
Although you won’t see the sea from your bedroom window, you will enjoy incredible views over the rolling Dorset hills. There are also excellent walks right from the door which take you to some lovely Dorset pubs and the sea is very easy to get to, by bike or by car – or by foot if you fancy a longer walk down to West Bay.
The Extras and Experiences
Alongside the stunning rooms, come the original and brilliant on-site extras that put Outbuildings in a league of its own. Our favourite include Bubbles in the Woods (an enchanting private hot tub experience), The Hay Barn Cinema (a private movie night pimped with sweet treats and food), and The Cart Shed Dining (a fine dining experience by candlelight).
There is also the mobile ‘Baa’ service – where you text for a tipple and have it promptly arrive at your door – as well as a range of delicious homemade food and drink hampers so you don’t have to cook, if you don’t want to. The team also offer a number of brilliant packages, including the decadent and fully recommended Winter Lie In.
In short, everything at Outbuildings has been carefully thought about and created from the heart up. Meaning you won’t want to weekend here just once – you’ll be desperate to return again and again.
