Battlesteads Hotel and Restaurant nestles in the picturesque village of Wark, on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, which gained Dark Sky Park status in December 2013.
The pub, which was originally built as a farmstead, boasts exceptional green credentials, 22 individually-styled luxury bedrooms and a first-class restaurant serving an a la carte menu using only local, fresh produce – much of it grown on-site.
The hotel also has its own on-site observatory offering talks, activities, stargazing and astro courses, as well as an unrivalled vantage point from which to wonder at the county’s dramatic night-time sky.
